List models API: what your key can call

List the models your key can call, read one model, and use the Gemini-format list, at no cost and without calling any model.

Find out which models your key can call. These requests call no model and cost nothing, so they are also a quick way to check that a key works.

Three requests#

  • GET /v1/models lists the models of your key's provider, in the OpenAI format: object: "list" and data, where each item has its id.
  • GET /v1/models/{model} returns one model.
  • GET /v1beta/models lists the models in the Gemini format, with a key for Gemini models in x-goog-api-key.

Each key works with one provider's models, so the list shows only that provider's models. The id field is the value you send in model.

Authentication#

Send your key in the Authorization header as Bearer followed by the key. The Gemini-format list uses x-goog-api-key.
