AI subscriptions in Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman: prices

In Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman, the App Store sells ChatGPT and Claude plans in US dollars, and in Qatar in Qatari riyals. ChatGPT Go and Plus cost the same in the three dollar stores. Bahrain lists every Claude plan, and two of ChatGPT's Pro tiers, higher than Kuwait and Oman. Each table below gives its source and date.

How much is ChatGPT in Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman?#

OpenAI sells ChatGPT Go, Plus and Pro in the ChatGPT iPhone app. Pro comes in three tiers: Pro 100, Pro 200 and Pro 500. These are the App Store prices in each of the four countries:

• Go, Plus and Pro 200 cost the same in Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman.
• Pro 100 and Pro 500 are cheapest in Kuwait, then Oman, then Bahrain.
• Qatar lists its prices in Qatari riyals, so convert them before you compare.

Each store page also lists a second "ChatGPT Plus" item with no period shown. We left it out of the table; see the questions below.

How much is Claude in Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman?#

Anthropic sells Claude Pro monthly or yearly, plus Claude Max and Claude Ultra, in the Claude iPhone app, where the seller is Anthropic PBC. These are the App Store prices in each country:

Kuwait and Oman have the same price for every Claude plan. Bahrain lists every plan higher than both. Qatar's prices are in Qatari riyals.

The same store pages also list Claude usage credit packs. Those are separate purchases, not plans, so read the item name before you pay.

Anthropic's Ultra plan used to be called Max 20x. Its help page says: "The Max 20x plan is now called the Ultra plan." What each Claude plan gives you is in Claude Pro vs Max.

Which of the four countries is cheapest?#

Kuwait, among the three dollar stores. Kuwait is never higher than Bahrain or Oman on any ChatGPT or Claude plan:

• ChatGPT: Go, Plus and Pro 200 are the same in all three. Pro 100 and Pro 500 cost least in Kuwait, then Oman, then Bahrain.
• Claude: Pro, Max and Ultra are the same in Kuwait and Oman, and higher in Bahrain.

The Qatari riyal is pegged at 3.64 riyals to the US dollar. At that rate, on 2026-11-01, Qatar was slightly cheaper than Kuwait for ChatGPT Plus, ChatGPT Pro 200 and monthly Claude Pro, about the same for Pro 100 and Pro 500, and dearer for the other plans. Your bank's rate and card fees set the final amount. And you can only pay another store's price by moving your Apple Account to that country, as explained below.

Is Claude Pro cheaper monthly or yearly?#

Yearly, in all four countries. In each store, the yearly Pro plan costs less than twelve monthly payments; compare the two Pro rows in the Claude table.

The catch is that you pay for twelve months at once. If you are not sure Pro is right for you, start with one month, watch how quickly you reach the limit, and decide after that. These store pages list Max and Ultra as monthly plans only, and Anthropic says Ultra is monthly only.

Is it cheaper on the website or in the App Store?#

The two channels are priced differently, so compare the final amounts, not the listed prices. These are the US list prices on the OpenAI and Anthropic websites, in dollars:

Three things separate the two prices:

• Currency. In Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman, both lists are in dollars, but the amounts don't always match, so compare them row by row. In Qatar, the App Store shows a fixed price in Qatari riyals, while the website prices in the table above are in dollars. If your card isn't in dollars, your bank may add a foreign-currency fee.
• Tax. Anthropic says the prices on its pricing page "don't include applicable tax". The final amount on the website can be higher than the listed price, so check the total on the payment page before you confirm.
• Who you pay. On its website, Anthropic accepts credit or debit cards only. In the iPhone app, Apple handles the payment, and you manage or cancel the subscription from your Apple Account settings.

Can you pay another country's App Store price?#

Only by moving your Apple Account to that country or region, and Apple sets conditions before you can:

• Spend your remaining Apple Account balance.
• Cancel any subscriptions that block the change, then wait until the end of the subscription period.
• Have a valid payment method for the new country or region ready.

That suits someone who has actually moved, for example from Bahrain to Kuwait. It is not a quick way to buy one plan at a lower price.

Do ChatGPT and Claude work in Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman?#

Yes. All four countries are on Anthropic's list of supported countries, which covers Claude.ai, Claude Code, Cowork and Anthropic's API. They are also on OpenAI's list of supported countries for its API. Both apps are sold in the App Store of each country.

Keep the subscription on your own account. Don't buy a shared account: everyone who uses it can see your chats.

Is there a cheaper way to run ChatGPT and Claude?#

Is ChatGPT Plus the same price in Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman?#

Yes. On 2026-11-01, the App Store listed ChatGPT Plus at the same dollar price in all three. Qatar lists it in riyals.

Why is Claude more expensive in Bahrain?#

Neither Apple nor Anthropic explains it. On 2026-11-01, the Bahrain App Store listed every Claude plan higher than Kuwait and Oman. If you live in Bahrain, compare it with the price on claude.com before you subscribe.

Is the yearly Claude Pro plan worth it?#

It costs less than twelve monthly payments in all four stores, but you pay for the whole year at once. Take it once you know Pro is the right plan for you.

What is the second ChatGPT Plus item in the App Store?#

It is listed at about ten times the monthly Plus price, and the store page doesn't show its period. We couldn't confirm what it covers from the page, so we left it out of the table. Check the period in Apple's purchase window before you pay.

Can I pay for a 5abeer plan from Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain or Oman?#
