ChatGPT Go vs Plus vs Pro: what each plan adds

ChatGPT Go, Plus and Pro compared from OpenAI's own pages: what Go leaves out, what Plus and Pro add, Codex on each plan, and ads on Go.

Updated November 2, 2026Markdown version

Go, Plus and Pro are OpenAI's three paid ChatGPT plans for individuals. Go raises the free plan's tool limits and context window, and like Free it may show ads. Plus adds the advanced reasoning models and more deep research and Codex, with no ads. Pro has three tiers for heavy use. Pick by the features you need.

How much do Go, Plus and Pro cost?#

  • Your price can differ. OpenAI bills in US dollars, with local-currency billing in a limited set of countries, and the App Store or Google Play can show another price. Local prices are in ChatGPT Plus price in Egypt and ChatGPT and Claude prices in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
  • Monthly only. OpenAI's help center says Go, Plus and Pro have no annual billing and no way to pay months in advance. You cancel where you paid: chatgpt.com, the App Store or Google Play.

What does Go leave out compared with Plus?#

The gap between Go and Plus is in models, speed and some tools, not in the context window. This is how OpenAI's pricing page compares the two, as we read it on 2026-11-02:

ChatGPT GoChatGPT Plus
AdsMay include adsNo ads
ModelsLuna, plus Think on the web and in the mobile appAdds Sol in Chat, Astra and Sol 6.1 in ChatGPT Work and Codex, and older models

CodexLimited, in the desktop appAdds web, CLI, IDE extension and iOS
Context window, Instant / reasoning54K / 256K54K / 256K

Both plans include file uploads, data analysis, vision, projects, scheduled tasks and voice with video, and Plus has more memory, messages and uploads. Since the context window is the same, a document of about 320 pages fits in reasoning mode on Go just as on Plus.

About ads on Go. OpenAI's help center says ads may appear on Free and Go, below a response and clearly labelled, while Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu show none. Testing began in the US on February 9, 2026 and is rolling out to select regions. Ads stay away from sensitive topics such as health and politics, and you can turn off ad personalisation under Ads controls in Settings.

What does Pro add over Plus?#

Pro keeps everything in Plus. OpenAI's pricing page and its Pro help article list what it adds:

  • Three usage tiers, Pro 100, Pro 200 and Pro 500, each named after its monthly price in US dollars. Each higher tier includes more usage, and only Pro 500 includes Ultrafast.
  • Pro reasoning in Chat, and longer Codex and ChatGPT Work sessions.
  • A larger context window: 128K in Instant mode and 400K in reasoning mode.
  • Dot, OpenAI's always-on agent, and ChatGPT Space.
  • Monthly API credits that match the number in the tier's name. They need activation, and unused credits expire at the end of each billing cycle.

The full comparison, with thinking levels and usage limits, is in ChatGPT Plus vs Pro: what does Pro add?

How does Codex differ on each plan?#

Codex, OpenAI's coding agent, comes with every ChatGPT plan, and ChatGPT Work draws on the same usage. OpenAI's Codex pricing page lists:

PlanCodex on that plan
FreeQuick coding tasks in the desktop app, subject to rollout
GoLightweight coding tasks in the desktop app, subject to rollout
PlusAdds web, CLI, IDE extension and iOS, with models including Astra and Sol 6.1, and a five-hour limit on local messages that varies by model
ProLonger sessions, no five-hour limit for now, and Ultrafast on Pro 500

OpenAI pitches Plus for "a few focused coding sessions each week". Weekly limits may also apply, cloud tasks can use more of your allowance than local work, and on Plus and Pro you can buy credits to keep going after a limit. To run Codex on an API key instead, read Run Codex CLI with an API key.

Which plan should you choose?#

  • Free if you mostly chat in text: OpenAI doesn't cap everyday text chats on Free or Go beyond abuse guardrails.
  • Go if you upload files, analyse data or create images every week, and ads don't bother you.
  • Plus if you need Astra or Sol, more deep research, Codex beyond the desktop app, or no ads.
  • Pro if you hit the Plus limits most days or need Pro reasoning. Start at Pro 100 and move up if you still run out, or to Pro 500 if you need Ultrafast.
  • A 5abeer Bundle plan if you work every day in ChatGPT Desktop or Codex on a computer, especially alongside Claude Code or Google Antigravity.

Is there a cheaper way to use ChatGPT for work?#

If you use ChatGPT on a computer for work, 5abeer's Bundle plans run ChatGPT Desktop and Codex, plus Claude Desktop, Claude Code and Google Antigravity. Subscribe to the official apps for less than their official price. These are our plan prices, as on the pricing page, in your currency:

5abeer Bundle plans
5abeer planBest forUsage limitsOur price
ProFor everyday useA 5-hour limit and a weekly limit15.99 / month
Max (formerly Max 5x)For heavy daily work5× the Pro plan limits69.99 / month
Ultra (formerly Max 20x)If you work with it all day20× the Pro plan limits139.99 / month
  • Desktop apps, not the phone app. A 5abeer plan runs ChatGPT Desktop and Codex through the 5abeer AI app on Mac, Windows and Linux, not inside the ChatGPT phone app.
  • Every Bundle plan runs every official app, from the smallest to the largest. The plans differ in usage limits only: a 5-hour limit and a weekly limit, as in Usage limits.
  • On your own official account: Codex asks for your own ChatGPT account, and Google Antigravity for your own Google account.
  • 5abeer's Pro, Max (formerly Max 5x) and Ultra (formerly Max 20x) are 5abeer's plans, so 5abeer's Pro is not ChatGPT Pro. 5abeer is an independent service, not affiliated with OpenAI, Anthropic or Google.

To start, pay the way that suits you (Payment methods), install the 5abeer AI app, then press Use 5abeer with next to ChatGPT Desktop or Codex. Activated within minutes. The full steps are in How the subscription works.

Frequently asked questions#

Is ChatGPT Go worth it if I only chat in text?#

Usually not. Free already covers everyday text chats. Go pays off when you need more file uploads, data analysis, image creation, memory or context than the free plan gives you.

How can I use ChatGPT without ads?#

Plus and Pro have no ads, and Temporary Chats show none on any plan. Where ads are being tested, the Free plan also offers an ad-free mode with lower message limits and without some tools, such as image generation and deep research.

Can I move from Plus or Pro down to Go?#

Yes, from Settings, then Account, in ChatGPT. Your current plan stays active until the end of the billing cycle you paid for, then your account moves to Go at Go's price. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, check the change in that store too.

Is ChatGPT Go sold in every country?#

OpenAI says Go is available in every country where ChatGPT is supported. Purchases are in US dollars, with local-currency billing in a limited set of countries, and OpenAI says it may adjust Go's price over time.

Does a 5abeer plan replace Go, Plus or Pro?#

Not one for one. A 5abeer Bundle plan runs ChatGPT Desktop, Codex and the other official apps on your computer, with 5abeer's own limits. It doesn't run in the ChatGPT phone app, and its plan names are 5abeer's, not OpenAI's.
