A cheaper Cursor alternative for coding with Claude and GPT
What Cursor's plans cost and include now, what is billed on top, and a cheaper way to code with the official Claude Code, Codex and Antigravity agents.
Cursor is an AI code editor, and its plans are sold as part of The X Subscription, with Grok and X. Claude, GPT and Gemini sit outside every plan's included usage: from Premium up, Cursor bills them at API list price on top. If you code mostly with them, their makers' official agents on one plan can cost less.
How much does Cursor cost now?#
Cursor's pricing page sells Cursor as part of The X Subscription, which it calls one subscription for Grok, Cursor and X. Older plans such as Pro and Pro+ keep working as they are for existing customers. These are the current individual plans, each with its source and check date:
| Plan | Market and channel | Official price | Billing | Source | Checked |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cursor Plus | United States · Vendor website | $8 | per month | cursor.com | 2026-11-01 |
| Cursor Premium | United States · Vendor website | $30 | per month | cursor.com | 2026-11-01 |
| Cursor Super | United States · Vendor website | $100 | per month | cursor.com | 2026-11-01 |
| Cursor Ultra | United States · Vendor website | $200 | per month | cursor.com | 2026-11-01 |
A few notes on the table:
- Prices exclude tax. Cursor's page says the prices shown don't include applicable taxes or fees, such as VAT.
- Third-party models cost extra. Usage of models such as Claude, GPT and Gemini isn't part of the monthly price and is bought separately.
- Free, Teams and Enterprise aren't in the table. Free has limited agent and chat requests, Teams is priced per seat, and Enterprise has custom pricing.
- Self-serve plans take cards. Cursor lists all major credit and debit cards, and keeps invoices and wire transfers for Enterprise.
What does each Cursor plan include?#
Every paid plan includes one weekly pool of usage for Cursor's own models, such as Grok and Composer. The pool is shared across Agent in the editor, the CLI, Cloud Agents, Grok Bot and the Grok apps, and each model draws from it at its own rate. Here is what each plan adds:
| Plan | What it adds, as Cursor describes it |
|---|---|
| Free | Limited agent and chat requests |
| Plus | Agent with Cursor's own models at fixed settings, plus Grok Chat, Voice, Imagine, Build and Grok API access. No Auto, Cloud Agents, Bugbot, third-party models or your own API keys |
| Premium | Four times the usage of Plus, Cloud Agents and Automations, code hosting on Origin, code review with Bugbot, and third-party models at API list price |
| Super | Fifteen times the usage of Plus, and priority model access at peak times |
| Ultra | Fifty times the usage of Plus, and earliest access to new products and models |
Cursor recommends Premium for new AI users, Super for daily agent users and Ultra for power users. It suggests Plus for social creators with limited AI usage. Plus runs Cursor's own models only, so Claude, GPT and Gemini need Premium or higher.
When does Cursor cost more than the plan price?#
Two kinds of usage are paid from prepaid credit, on top of the plan:
- Third-party models. On Premium and above, Claude, GPT and Gemini cost their API list price from the first request.
- Usage past the weekly pool. When the pool runs out, Cursor's own models keep working at per-model rates, or you wait for the weekly reset.
You add credit when you choose, or turn on Auto Top-up, and a monthly cap limits how much extra usage you can consume. On Teams and Enterprise, eligible third-party requests also carry a per-token Cursor Token Rate, even with your own key. Individual plans don't pay it.
Your own API key is the other route. From Cursor's Premium plan up, you can add an OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Azure OpenAI or AWS Bedrock key, and the provider bills you directly. Those requests don't draw from your included usage. Keys work for chat models only, and Tab completion stays on Cursor's built-in models. The requests still pass through Cursor's servers, and Cursor's Zero Data Retention policy doesn't apply to them.
Which official agents can replace Cursor?#
Anthropic, OpenAI and Google each publish a coding agent that runs on its maker's subscription plans instead of per-request prices. These agents read your project, edit files and run commands:
| Agent | Made by | Where it runs |
|---|---|---|
| Claude Code | Anthropic | The terminal, IDE extensions such as VS Code and JetBrains, a desktop app and the browser |
| Codex | OpenAI | ChatGPT Desktop, the terminal, an extension for VS Code and compatible editors, and integrations for Xcode and JetBrains |
| Google Antigravity | A desktop app, the agy CLI, editor extensions and a Python SDK | |
| OpenCode | An open-source project | A terminal interface, a desktop app and an IDE extension |
Anthropic and OpenAI both list Cursor among the editors their extensions install in, so you can keep Cursor as your editor and run their agents inside it. Cursor also has features of its own, such as Tab completion, Cloud Agents and Bugbot reviews. If your work relies on them, a Cursor plan stays the better fit.
How do you run them on one 5abeer plan?#
5abeer's Bundle plans run the official Claude Code, Codex and Google Antigravity, along with OpenCode, Claude Desktop and ChatGPT Desktop. Subscribe to the official apps for less than their official price. These are our plan prices, as on the pricing page, in your currency:
| 5abeer plan | Best for | Usage limits | Our price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pro | For everyday use | A 5-hour limit and a weekly limit | 15.99 / month |
| Max (formerly Max 5x) | For heavy daily work | 5× the Pro plan limits | 69.99 / month |
| Ultra (formerly Max 20x) | If you work with it all day | 20× the Pro plan limits | 139.99 / month |
Before you compare, know the difference:
- A 5abeer plan doesn't include Cursor. It runs the makers' own agents, not Cursor's editor, Tab completion or Grok.
- Every Bundle plan runs every official app, from the smallest to the largest. The plans differ in usage limits only.
- On your own official account: Codex asks for your own ChatGPT account, and Google Antigravity asks for your own Google account.
- Each plan has a 5-hour limit and a weekly limit, explained in Usage limits.
- The subscription runs in desktop apps through the 5abeer AI app on Mac, Windows and Linux, not inside a phone app.
5abeer's Pro, Max (formerly Max 5x) and Ultra (formerly Max 20x) are 5abeer plans, not Cursor plans. The models each agent runs are on the models page: Claude Code, Codex, Google Antigravity and OpenCode.
If you call Claude or GPT from your own code, per-token prices are on the Claude API page and the OpenAI API page.

Frequently asked questions#
Can I use my own API key in Cursor?#
Yes, from the Premium plan up. Add an OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Azure OpenAI or AWS Bedrock key under Cursor Settings > Models, and the provider bills you for those requests. Keys work for chat models only, and the Plus plan doesn't accept your own keys.
Does a 5abeer API key work in Cursor?#
Cursor's documentation lists the providers above and doesn't document a custom base URL, so we don't promise that it works. 5abeer keys are documented for agents such as Claude Code, Codex CLI and OpenCode.
Can I run Claude Code or Codex inside Cursor?#
Yes. The makers' docs list Cursor among the editors that the Claude Code and Codex extensions install in. On a 5abeer plan, Claude Code runs in the terminal, and Codex runs in ChatGPT Desktop and the terminal, as in What each plan runs.
Does 5abeer sell Cursor plans?#
No. Cursor says its subscriptions are sold only directly through X Subscription Corp, that it authorizes no resellers, and that accounts bought elsewhere may be suspended or terminated. Buy Cursor from its own website. A 5abeer plan runs other makers' official agents.
Is Cursor's Free plan enough?#
It is enough to look around. Cursor lists limited agent and chat requests on Free, and Claude, GPT and Gemini need the Premium plan or higher.
Is 5abeer part of Cursor?#
No. 5abeer is an independent service, not affiliated with OpenAI, Anthropic or Google, and not affiliated with Cursor or X either. Claude Code, Codex and Google Antigravity are the official apps their makers publish.
When is this table updated?#
Every row in the official price table carries the date we checked it and a link to its source. 5abeer's plan prices come from the same data as the pricing page.
