The website prices are set in US dollars. Three things make the two prices differ: - **The currency.** The App Store shows a set price for each country in its own currency, not the dollar price converted. - **Tax.** Anthropic says the prices on its [pricing page](https://claude.com/pricing) don't include tax, and that some regions include tax in the displayed price while others add it at checkout, as on [its Pro plan page](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/8325606-what-is-the-pro-plan). Check the final amount on the payment page before you confirm. - **Who you pay.** In the iPhone app you pay Apple, not OpenAI or Anthropic. You manage and cancel that subscription from your Apple account settings. ## How do you pay for ChatGPT and Claude in the Gulf? On its website, Anthropic accepts credit and debit cards only, and not third-party payment processors such as PayPal, as stated in its [billing FAQs](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/8325618-paid-plan-billing-faqs). If you subscribe in the Claude app on iPhone or Android, the App Store or Google Play handles the payment. In the iPhone apps you pay with your Apple account. Yes, a private account is safer than a shared one, but what matters most is that it is your own account, not the seller's. A few simple rules: - Don't buy an account shared with other people, because your chats can be seen by everyone who uses it. - Never give a seller the password to your own account. - Ask where the subscription runs. If it runs on an account the seller owns, you may lose access to it, and to your chats.
